In his book “The Dip…,” Seth Godin talks about deciding to quit or stick things out in order to be the best. Are you doing what it takes to be the best… at something? I bet you’re not. So quit. Why are you wasting your time? Do something else.
When it comes to creativity, if you’re not in a dip or two, you’re not trying. In fact, big ideas are only found at the bottom of a gorging dip. So the next time you’re getting smashed, beat down by a client, co-worker or boss over an idea, smile. That’s a dip. Just go back to your corner and make the idea better… and better…. and better… until it’s the best idea.
Later…
